UCT application forms

If you opt for the manual application process, you can download the forms from the university's website. This interface provides a list of forms for different programmes. UCT online application 2021

Application for all the undergraduate courses started on 1st April 2020 and will close on 31st July 2020. UCT prospectus students are advised to ensure that they submit their requests within the stipulated time frame since the university does not accept late applications. The university also advocates for prospectus students to utilise the online application platform as it is more convenient.

It is mandatory for all prospectus students who hail from South Africa or those looking forward to joining the Faculty of Health Sciences regardless of their origin, to sit the National Benchmark Tests. In line with the test, prospectus students are being reminded that the results of the test are only valid for three years before the year of admission. Therefore, if you wish to join the institution, you should apply to sit the test by 31st August 2020.

UCT online application process

The first step of the application involves creating a UCT portal by filling in personal details and the functional email address. Upon submitting these details, the university will share a link to the email address that you've provided. The link will provide you with the online application form. To access the form, you will be required to log in using the UCT login details that you provided while creating the account.

A student is required to fill in the form by providing credible details. Before settling for a programme, they should ensure that they meet the stipulated requirements for the courses. If they need accommodation in the university, they should also state it in the form. Before submitting the form, they should ensure that they deposit the stated UCT online application fee.

UCT application fee

The university charges an application fee of R100 for prospectus students within South Africa and the SADC region. International students are required to pay an application fee of R300. South Africans and other Africans who wish to join the Graduate School of Business are charged an application fee of R1,750. Applicants from outside Africa who wish to join the Graduate School of Business are required to pay an application fee of USD 300.

The payment can be made through credit card deposits which should be made online, direct bank deposits, cash at the university's cash office at Kramer Building, Middle Campus, UCT. Alternatively, one can make payments through electronic cash transfer. This option is exclusively available for all diploma and degree prospectus students apart from applications to the Graduate School of Business. Prospectus students who are UCT graduates are exempted from paying the application fee. Paying the application fee does not guarantee that you will have a chance in the university.

Undergraduate Certificate Study

Undergraduate Diploma Study

Bachelor's Degree Study

A prospectus student is required to have attained not less than 40% in the Higher Grade in English for Senior Certificate level.

South African NSC undergraduate students

The student is required to have attained a rating of not less than 2 or more in Home Language or the First Additional Language level.

Students with non-South African school-leaving certificates
