Oof — tough audience! Brandy Norwood didn’t get much applause after she recently sang on a New York City subway. Instead, the singer and actress — who is currently starring as Roxie Hart on Broadway’s Chicago — got totally ignored!

The Moesha alum, 36, brought along her friend Frank Silent to capture the performance on camera. She tried to look unrecognizable by wearing sunglasses and a hoodie.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay in New York. Ever since moving here in April I’ve made sure to REALLY experience the city,” she wrote on her blog on Monday, July 13. “I’ve hung out in Central Park, Times Square, ridden the bus, and I’ve gotten accustomed to taking the subway too. I feel like a real New Yorker. I’m learning the streets and everything, y’all! There’s something different about NY. The energy and the drive of the people is just DIFFERENT. I like it!”

She added: “I decided to hit the subway and sing my little heart out. You’ve GOTTA check out this video and see why this fun-filled morning left me asking: Can a Sistah get ONE fan?!”

Err, apparently not. Bystanders kept to themselves and made minimum eye contact with the star — except for one male passenger.

“Don’t be scared. You got talent man, go for it,” he told her. “We’ve seen this a million times. You’ve gotta do something different.”

In August 2013, Brandy also got no love while performing at the Mandela Sports and Culture Day in Soweto, South Africa. At the time, she played for 40 people in a 90,000-seat stadium.
