Covert Action Magazine and the Zimbabwean government both accused Swaggart and his ministry of continuing to support RENAMO in 1991.

Swaggart married Frances Anderson, a 15-year-old he had met at church, when he was 17 years old, in 1952.
The couple’s son, Donnie, preaches at the Family Worship Centre and other churches around the world.
