Mark-Paul Gosselaar Confesses That Zack Morris Is Not a Natural Blonde
You hear that? That’s the sound of a million hearts breaking upon discovering that Saved by the Bell‘s Zack Morris was not a natural blonde!
Indeed, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who played Morris on the beloved ’90s series, revealed that his character’s famous flaxen tresses were nothing but a bottle job while chatting with host Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
“My mother is from Indonesia. My mother is this tiny little Indonesian woman! People don’t know this: Zack Morris is half-Asian,” Gosselaar, 41, told Fallon. “That’s why the hair, the blonde hair, was dyed for all those years.”
The NYPD Blue alum added, “People think, ‘Oh, that’s your natural hair color.’ It was not. That was color by Clairol. That is not natural, guys, you can see the brown going through!”
