Will Young announces seventh studio album 'Lexicon' and bares all with 'All The Songs'
‘All The Songs’ sees Will Young follow up from his 2015 album, ‘85% Proof’ and has since changed record labels to release music independently under Cooking Vinyl.
You may remember Young from his early days in the music industry after he won UK talent show Pop Idol back in 2002, with his winning single ‘Evergreen / Anything Is Possible’ debuting atop the UK Singles Chart. The debut single went on to become the number one selling single of that year and of the 00s (2000 – 2009). Other notable singles include ‘Leave Right Now’, ‘You and I’, ‘Jealousy’ and ‘Joy’ amongst others.
His seventh studio album, ‘Lexicon’ will be released 14th June 2019 under Cooking Vinyl, an independent label. Young has spent most of his career with 13 Recordings and then made a switch to Island Records for his 2015 album, ‘85% Proof’. A 21-date UK tour will support the new album in October 2019 titled, ‘An Evening With Will Young’.
You may have been wondering what the ‘Leave Right Now’ singer has been up to in between albums. Young is a BBC Radio 2 presenter and is constantly featured on the UK radio station. He also has his own podcast series, ‘Homo Sapiens’ where has had guests including fellow LGBTQ+ artists, Troye Sivan and Sam Smith. His BBC Radio 2 series, ‘Will Young’s Essentials’ is also a favourite amongst the radio station’s listeners.
‘All The Songs’ has been made BBC Radio 2’s ‘Track of The Week’ which means it will receive consistent airplay throughout the upcoming week. Young has also unveiled a music video for ‘All The Songs’ which features the singer in various outfits stripping to bare all throughout the music video.
